Re: Watchmen
Well, I'd have to say that Watchmen has all the qualities of a porno and action movie, It's also got a serious case of blue balls. But porno aside, I enjoyed watching Dr. Manhattan spontaniously combusting people and the heros kicking some serious butt. 9/10 movie
I still can't get how the comedian could die that easily, he was crazy strong, and thet smart guy said he hired out to kill him, but was it not really him that killed the comedian? Let's see... Roshack is cool.

Re: Watchmen
He hired out somebody to try to assassinate HIMSELF, not the Comedian. The Comedian was out of shape.

Re: Watchmen
I didnt read the comic but saw the animated comic, its much better than the movie. In the movie they killed Ozymandias origin, changed the ending, changed some the dialog, used 60's music when the movie was supposed to be set in the 80's

- The origin is told at a different point in the story, before his assassination attempt.Aiursrage2k wrote: I didnt read the comic but saw the animated comic, its much better than the movie. - "Some" dialog? More like majority, haha. Seemed the dialog from the comic used was more like a tribute moment instead of real dialogue.
- The 60's music was typically always in relations to the Minute Men, of the 60's..
- I hate the animated comic, I can't believe one guy did all the characters. EVEN THE GIRLS.

Re: Watchmen
Everyone always hypes Watchmen. Honestly, I didn't like the book. It just seemed like they were trying too hard to be "profound."

It's also a reference to some of the quotes in the comic - Bob Dylan and John Cale, for instance.Lavarinth wrote: - The 60's music was typically always in relations to the Minute Men, of the 60's..
The lack of DEVO references in the movie sucked though, it was pretty cool to see such a freaky band being mentioned by Nite Owl II.
Ozymandias and the Comedian lost so much of their awesomeness in the movie... meh.

Re: Watchmen
I can't say I thought too highly of this movie. It was clear it was adapted from a literature piece - it was rushed and overall a mishmash of scenes that really failed to convene much of anything until the end. It was clear the movie had to glaze over a lot of details and this hurt it a lot.
The action scenes weren't anything to hoot about, with randomly placed matrix-esque time warps here and there at inappropriate times, which should have simply been avoided altogether as they have become exceptionally cheesy when used in this fashion. Well, really, the whole movie was cheesy but I suppose that was the point.
I've never read the comic so I can't say much about the plot's original, but from a movie perspective it was eh. Predictable.
Magic wasn't kidding when he said there was blue cocks everywhere.
The violence was greatly exaggerated by you guys and not even remotely comparable to sin city.
It was a decent movie, but not one I would care to actually go out and see.
Of course I had just come from watching some BSG so my expectations were very high.

Re: Watchmen
The violence was totally inconsistent. There were parts where it was way underdone (like every scene with Nite Owl) and parts where it was ridiculously overdone (like every scene with Rorschach). It didn't know whether it wanted light comic violence or gritty graphic novel violence.

Re: Watchmen
or, you know, those characters are complete opposites of eachother and the violence around them was meant to reinforce that.
Now with 50% more lol, 50% more win, and 100% phlail.

Re: Watchmen
Of course, but that doesn't change the fact that it felt weird.
