Nothing wrong with big communities. You just gotta change the way you browse the forum. The big plus of big communities is that if your bored out of your mind you always have something to read.

plus bigger communities can warrant more numerous and more specialised subforums that can in theory make it easier to find the interesting ones out of the many threads posted while avoiding the boring crap about anime or whatever
