First 16 player map

The first 16 player map is a FAIL..

16 player yes. only 8 Expansion possible O_o

Apparently you start walled by rock.. i think.. the replay i'm watching is not great.

That looks awesome.  It's like forcing 1 vs 1's, then the victors all go up against each other.  I'm not certain as to the terrain design, but it'll definitely make for some atypical games.

Let's face it, 16 player games are going to be quite chaotic whatever the map.

I wonder how they got past the part where you if you want 16 players you gotta change neutral passive aka the guy who owns minerals to a player.

Same question. Although, it can be possible if you use triggers to ally convert the resources to the closest workers and such. Remember that resources are STILL mineable if they are allied to you instead of neutral. The difference between that all specific resources patches are technically owned by a player in this guess.

I did some quick tests and you can't have player # -1 or player #16 so they probably did some technique like I suggested above.

*Some time later and some quick tests ...*

Another possibility that might influence the whole thing is the Mineral Field/Gas 's behavior for the field value "Behavior - Required Alliance" which by default it's "passive" (I believe implying direct alliance). Although, I believe it might be possible to enforce "Help Responses" or "Allow Trade" between all players so you can switch said field value to match that and basically allow all players to mine from any patch regardless of who technically own the minerals.

Hu....

I finished the replay and it was a 14 player replay ( 2 spot not taken.. ).. and those 2 unused starting location had NO ressource and were BLOCK by undestructible doddad...

What ?

Btw this map is heavely oriented for Air. Ground unit have to destroy multiple wall of rock.
