That's basically what this audio video is covering.

I don't understand how this thread has 437 views and the Intro video only has 15 views. What the hell is up with the botting going on in this forum?

Well, with the lack of real interest for the time being, and the constant bsods I get from using vegas, wave 2 will not be coming for a while yet.

The third video I'll be making for wave 2 is my terrain thought process for sc2.

Maybe the 15 are the ones who truly listen and know the true value of what you have to say.

Nah, it's just me spamming F5 on his video feeds.

Mesk, you know I'm available for any discussions on any subjects. Let me know what you would like to talk about, if anything.

I intended to round up some subjects sometime potentially but haven't had the motivation to do anything. Currently, I'm taking an extended break from casting.

Fair enough, but if you need me to kick you in the ass (proverbially, of course ;) ), just say the word. I really like what you're doing and I want to help if I can.

Here's a bump for some guys from youtube looking for the thread.

I have a video on the basics of SC2 brush work and my mapping logic and such complete I'll encode in the future and add to the goat coaster for deployment whenever I figure out how I'll make the other videos. Since Camtasia destroyed all the presentations I had made for graphics and audio (some hours of work) I am starting entirely from scratch except for one audio recording.

Greets,

Because Camtasia destroyed my wave 2 material, I have released what wave 2 material I had left. This is a single video that discusses my approach to terrain in sc2, primarily focusing on logic and brush work.

This video has been added to the OP as a coveted Wave 1.5.

Nice. I love your approach to gameplay. I've always hated terraining though.

Has creating this series inspired you to go back and work on apex?

Nope. Most of this is relatively old stuff. I doubt I will ever do a mod or campaign ever again. Especially not with sc2, given the total lack of 3d support. I may continue to make videos regarding it but there will be no actual project.

Wave 2 is now available!

Planning, Conceptuals, & Goals

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujFt6uGDyTg

A lengthy ramble about how I plan projects, my conceptuals for projects, my goals, and some random stuff related to figuring out how tackling a big project could be like. I talk about Apex, 2042, and others.

Casting Demon's Souls (Discussions)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=547pXImoGWY

Introducing the Discussions subsegment is a relatively short editorial about Demon's Souls. Interested in my mindsets about casting? They aren't so noble or lighthearted as you might think...

2042/Starsworn - Establishing The Genre (Starsworn)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6m5GB1nvkw

A video that talks about Action RPG's, my 2042 game design, and Starsworn, an alternate variant. This is the first chapter of the Starsworn subsegment and talks about an imaginary UDK project and what it could be about. Demonstrates Dante's Inferno and God of War to help us get a grasp on the genre. A look at how I may introduce a project, analyze a project, and adapt my designs to it.

2042/Starsworn - Establishing Our Concept (Starsworn)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZZFMj0zwiQ

Chapter 2 of the Starsworn subsegment. This gets into a mechanical overview, talks about the bonuses and cons of various mechanical systems in the gameplay of an ARPG, what I am aiming for with environments, and the reasonings behind some adaptations of these systems as seen in Guild Wars 2 and other such games. This sets the stage for our future videos that will talk about non-mechanical elements to much larger extents, like RPG concepts.

I am slating the Introduction to Audio for Wave 3, but I kind of forgot how I was going to present it. So, I decided to push out wave 2 with what I had instead of waiting. I am more interested in getting my game design related material finished before I am no longer capable of doing so. Hopefully at least someone, somewhere, will garner some degree of inspiration from it all. But most likely not.

Questions:

1. Will enemies block attacks?
2. Will the player be able to block attacks?
3. Is it possible to add an auto-block kind of thing, where the character will block attacks as long as say a "block bar" is not empty?

I've watched a play through of a star wars game about starkiller and its ridiculous how the player has to light saber an opponent a few times, but be able to kill them by throwing.

Will there be attacks that insta-kills enemies when they're clearly hit fatally without them blocking or dodging?
