512x512 would likely be hideously blurry on that (that's a 1024x1024 texture tiled around 8-10 times). It has no UV's, by the way. I hope you can UV horrible messy triangulated cross-converted shitstorms.

Anyways, I thought it looked fairly reasonable if not for the lack of bloodstone sigils on it. It's not like Anahn ships have a lot of detail on the surface. You wouldn't see any mechanics, since on fighters they're underneath many meters of reactive armor. You wouldn't see any windows, obviously, seeing as no one in their right mind builds a armored ship and then defeats the entire armor system with windows.

For a fighter this small 1024x1024 is a big waste unless you do some really close-up shots, but even then 512x512 is still detailed enough. Too much pixels could cause artifacts, which is gay. Trust me I know my texture sizes.

One word: UV seams. They cure everything. Besides, it's not like I'll have to texture every single part of the ship.

You're just in total denial because you can't really skin or UV. I personally though it looked like the Chimera is made out of cardboard. Trust me just send me the obj or 3ds max files, I've dealt with shits like this before...

I mention windows because that's all the average person does with textures on a ship. Even with BSG.

/e As for looking like chalk, welcome to sins and its 1/3 normal map engine that doesn't have technology from when normal maps were first invented.

Who needs windows when you have COFFINS rite?

Most of the "ships" in my universes eventually became so large they dwarfs universes, infact most of the fighting happens in a plane known as heaven where parallel universes co-exists. Most of these ships are made out of nanites which glows extremely bright, so you can't even see the ship let alone windows...

Also just a thought... How does Anahn energy reactive armor looks like? Similar to modern day explosive reactive armor which are blocks laying after blocks?

Took that old Axel station model from his hw2 files I had recovered off the external, basically rebuilt all the armaments, fixed his ngon forest of disaster, detailed some stuff, and called it a day.
