Pie is the essence of all things.

A pie is a baked dish, with a baked shell usually made of pastry that covers or completely contains a filling of meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, cheeses, creams, chocolate, custards, nuts, or other sweet or savoury ingredients. Pies can be either "one-crust," where the filling is placed in a dish and covered with a pastry/potato mash top before baking, or "two-crust," with the filling completely enclosed in the pastry shell. Some pies have only a bottom crust, generally if they have a sweet filling that does not require cooking. These bottom-crust-only pies may be known as tarts or tartlets. One example of a savoury bottom-crust-only pie is a quiche. Tarte Tatin is a one-crust fruit pie that is served upside-down, with the crust underneath. Blind-baking is used to develop a crust's crispiness, and keep it from becoming soggy under the burden of a very liquid filling. If the crust of the pie requires much more cooking than the chosen filling, it may also be blind-baked before the filling is added and then only briefly cooked or refrigerated.
It's a philosophical discussion concerning the human desire to obtain pie, but eat it also. This is quite a paradox, as already mentioned by some of the other members. One yearns for pie and then receives it in one form or another, but one would also like to eat, nay, have a scrap of this sacred pie. But committing such a deed would hinder the biblical propertiesof said pie and therefore you can only admire it from a far. Every moment fighting the temptation to have so much as a LICK of the pie. This topic can be traced back to the philosopher Socrates, who after catching a vagabond from stealing his delicious pastry he is thrust into an intellectual discussion about the human need for "pie" as they dubbed it and why stealing a pie for thineself is in actuality self-defeating as pie, in it's purest forms, should be something that is worshiped by all the peoples in the world, and that no one man can truly "possess and consume" pie, and in doing so you condemn yourself to a life of impurity.killer-bee wrote: what is this pie thing anyway? but i love pie
