Before the rise of the Dominion, a man named Jack Sherall volunteered for a small rebel group named the Sons of Korhal. Bootcamp, a 4-map prequel campaign to Life of a Marine, tells the story of how Jack Sherall came into military service and met friends Craig Skillen, Katherine Logal, and Vertigo, all during the timeframe of Rebel Yell.

Edit by Lavarinth: Adjusted title to define completion. No more updates are necessary from contestants.

LOL!  :o :o

Not even I was expecting you released the COMPLETED campaign that sooner.  I'll play it later.  :)

Played through the campaign, and I've come to this conclusion:

DIALOGUE:  Fairly good and loyal to the SC I dialogue writing, although you could have put some more emotion in it.  ;)

GAMEPLAY:  Well scripted, and the first three missions were nearly easy for me to complete.  The fourth mission was a bit difficult, since it required some micromanagement and I had to sacrifice most of my units, but other than that, nice work.  ;)

MUSIC:  Pretty video-game like, but no one's perfect.  At least you could have added some nice movie or game tracks, like you did with LOAM.  :-\

STORYLINE:  Good for the prequel to LOAM, and one of your best keys was to use some connections to Episode I's missions 4, 5 and 6.  Well done.  ;)

TOTAL:  Despite some issues, this campaign is fun to play with.  If I were a judge, I'd give an 8 for the maps.  Congrats, Gemini.   :)

Thanks for your review :)

As for the music, it was 100% composed by me, which is something I've set for myself for all future projects for two reasons:

1. Writing music is one of my great passions.
2. The RIAA can't go after me for using my own compositions.

The reason it sounded so video-game like is because it was all done in midi, so there's that limitation. One day I'll get some good equipment and be able to make music sound more organic.

Wow... I love it. Played it all the way through in one go! The map design is great, much like the original Starcraft maps. The objectives were cool, and the dialogues were very well written.

I thought the music was great, by the way. And the fact that you've composed it yourself adds to the creativity of this campaign pack.

It's a pity we currently have no frame of reference in this contest, but I'd say this is about an 8 or 9.

Great job.

Congrats on finishing your second campaign, Gemini.  ;D

Although the maps were too small and easy, it adds to the "bootcamp" theme. The dialogue was really well written and the old-school music added to it. I thought some of the dialogue was a bit too fast, but it wasn´t much of an issue anyway.

Let´s see how the other projects in the contest compare to this, but what I can say, by now, is that it'll be hard to top.  ;)

I enjoyed playing the missions a lot. The maps don't have to be hard to give fun playing them, it was more like watching a movie with some interaction. The dialoge was very cool, although I had to play it a second time to get most of it as it is running pretty fast. Regarding music, it is not only very cool that you have music composed yourself (!), but it is also very good. I enjoyed it.

Finally! Bootcamp is ready!

In addition I would like to say only one:
WOW!!
Very much dressed up, indeed, briefly, but nicely.
Actually, are there plans for a continuation in StarCraft 2? I mean, this walk almost afterwards...

Or turn Gemini now also to the music, like Auspex?!  ;)
