Scrapped Script (Mission 2 Past Purposes Changed)

Postby The Oracle » Mon Aug 25, 2008 6:53 pm

While 95% of my work has been on Acts 2 and 3 of LotC (Dawn of Darkness and Galaxy of Fire), I've only spent a small amount of time on Past Purposes since the major characters aren't there.  That said, one of the missions I have very reluctantly decided to scrap and replace with something else.

http://sc2.campaigncreations.org/lotc-3 ... esMap2.doc

For those of you familiar with LotC, it's mission '3' for the original campaign and involves the earth and Protoss fleets fending off wave after wave of Zerg attackers.

As it turns out, that just doesn't have the effect I really wanted to convey for the campaign this time.  I want LotC to be dark, much moreso than before, and that mission just doesn't really lend itself to that atmosphere.  So...it's history.  You're welcome to download it if you want to read it or pass it around.  Only about 50% of the voices were done for it and those are, of course, scrapped as well and will be useless as will a radio show teaser I had done which ties into that mission.

The new mission 2 doesn't take place in orbit of earth and there is no big fleet engagement, at least, not until Act 2.   That's all I'll say about it here.  So enjoy if scripts are your thing.  Stay tuned for other media releases in the coming month.

You haven't lived until you've edited 5,000 recorded .mp3's of dialogue!

Wow.  You've got some real spirit for dialogue.

Having written about 120 pages of Lavvz and my project, I am very interested in scripts.

You take a interesting approach in script development. The entire thing smells like this is used primarily for you and your voice actors. When I am writing I am writing for Lavvz and me to get on the same page. We add in a lot more detail, I guess if your solo you don't have to do that. Very neat.

Your dialogue choices are very nice, as usual. You're a native english-speaker are you not?

Lol script? I like to make it up as I go along, with a wire outline.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well that's because you are the only person working on your project. What if you had voice actors, or what if you designed the story with a second person? ;)
