- Updated the LP considerations chunk to reflect modern mindset and changes in circumstances; mostly minor stuff. The most notable change is that I have removed HoTS from my absolutes because I am second guessing if it's even worth the effort of sailing the red sea to LP, much less buy. I think my decision will weigh entirely on how they choose to handle the disaster that is GalaxyEdit.
- Added Mesk Content Extras, which contains Black Sun direct downloads for Main and Micro encodes. Extra large-scale material like Black Sun and anything... much more secretive... will be located here for simplicity.

KZ2 seg 2 is now available!

Seg 3 is scheduled for later today or tomorrow depending how my time with Viking goes. Tonight is FFS but I can be uploading at limited bandwidth during that period. I need to rebalance the segment's audio a bit first.

Seg 3a for Killzone 2 is now available. Recording for Viking: Battle for Asgard is now completed and awaits processing. Seg 4 of KZ2 encoded and awaits editing.

Seg 3b and Seg 4 (final) for Killzone 2 are now available!

As it turns out, Shaw tripled my upload speed (from 100kb/s) and I was able to force it up to 500kb/s during these uploads, so they will come much faster now. As an aside, Shaw is going forward with UBB this summer and they have not changed our caps despite the speed increase.

I have begun work on manually resyncing Viking but am currently considering recording another LP to fill the huge activity gap that will result from this activity.

Meanwhile, I am making progress on transcoding videos and an app recommended to me by someone can put them into WMV. I can open them and edit them, and most importantly encode with them, in Vegas 10. However, their quality is balls. I am currently trying to figure out how to fix the quality but I am certain this avenue will work one way or another for these videos. Just need to find the right codec and settings.

I discovered that I had a large amount of WoW footage recorded from when I was leveling my warrior that did not make it into other videos. Only a very few parts of the tail end of the recordings made it into the beginning minutes of Fail Crusade 1. This material, Plus Dungeon Siege 1&2, left 4 dead, the first Vindictus recordings, and some other stuff, should be enough for a new XXE once I get this setup working perfectly.

I am having issues with the audio from transcoded videos and vegas 10 not playing the fucking things properly.

2 parts of XXE 4 near completion.

With XXE 4 completed and released, attention turns back to Viking. Segment 1 is nearing completion of the first test rendition of its sound segment. If the editing turns out to be successful it will immediately be compiled and uploaded for release.

Recording of Divinity 2 begins.

I backed up C:FW's recording and Warzone's recordings with the intention of finishing them later in the future when I feel better.

I consulted nef and I think I have a good environment set up for Earthbound recording. Not a top priority atm (Divinity 2 is) but I want to get on it fairly soon-ish. Waiting for better mood... if it will come.

Upcoming "Micro" encodes;

There are a few viewers who cannot watch the full-size videos because they use laptops or other mobile devices that cannot view the videos properly. Also, I understand the demand for a smaller low-res file in such instances regardless of processing power.

I am working on a pipeline to reasonably quickly produce re-encoded videos of a much smaller scale and filesize than base encodes. These micro encodes will be released after main releases due to the added encode time (they'd be encoded during major downtime). So far I do have one encode of Viking seg 1 I am experimenting with that seems to be working fine. It's less than 1/4 the size of the original and is at 640x360 resolution.

Currently I plan to release Killzone 2 as a single micro encode and other stuff will be handled on a by-project basis. Viking, for example, I plan to have several very large individual segments of around 2-3 hours a piece. Each will get their own micro encodes. These micro encodes will be released like everything else is and will be listed with the main encodes.

Comparison of detail;

Note that Viking's bloom shader does seem to blur a lot of outdoor areas. Make note of the lighting on the floor and the UI elements for best comparisons.

I have released the micro version of Viking seg 1. It went from 4.7 gigs to 833 megs. The quality loss is of course quite noticable and it is now 30fps but it should still be quite viewable. I was going to fix the audio desync that is at the very beginning of the video but didn't get around to it. In the future I will consider patching up the audio on those videos but that would entail like 5.5 gigs of bandwidth in uploading just to fix them when it's only a minor problem.

Viking segment 2 standard and micro versions now available!

Recording has begun on Earthbound and is currently at around an estimated 8-10 hours of content. One segment is encoded and not verified. It is about 3:20 hours long and at 400mb in size.

Earthbound finished.

Though at this time I do not feel up to verifying the entire thing. Actually, I don't feel like doing much of anything. I was hoping this depression would let off for a while, but I guess it's just going to get even worse instead.

I do, however, have Segment 3 and its micro versions of Viking uploaded. I'll get to making those available.

I randomly decided to start recording Dante's Inferno. At about 8 or so hours into the game across 8 or so segments, Audition 1.5 decided it would silently hang in the background and stop doing anything. Upon discovering this and restoring the program I discovered I was missing over a half-hour of audio data. I didn't lose anything like boss battles, just some trash fights and puzzle solving, but I can't restore what I did lose for the simple fact I am using one save.

I am starting to get really, REALLY pissed off with this audio bullshit. I can't trust a single app I have to record this stuff and not fuck it up somehow.

All of Dante's Inferno is recorded. Viking seg 4 is on the ftp but I have been lazy in adding the links. Not sure when I'll get to the micro encode, but these headaches make my current multitasking nearly impossible. Expect seg 4 to be available some time tonight.

I have some sc2 games casted to edit and upload.
