[Loli] Dev log - June 08 2009

Production has resumed on Project Loli. Time to get back into business.

My original zone plan for Act 1 has changed. I originally planned to put in a super foggy massive version of the Act 3 dock town for zone 4, but have decided to use a reincarnated version of the KTD intro map "Corrupted Ruins" for zone 4 instead.

With the Corrupted Ruins, I intend to take advantage of the optical illusions possible with Blizzard's tilesets. In this case, depth and Z-level. Remember how D2 only had trenches and such? Well, this map will take things a bit further.

If you're anything like me, you hate puzzles and you hate mazes. Luckily, I've designed these areas with that kind of spite in mind. Although the maze-like network of ramps will lead you all over the place, any dead-ends will reward you with surprises like chests, Elite sectors, or possibly entrances to caves or such. The boss sector (and the exit to the next zone) will have multiple ways to reach, just like the other zones, so no path is the "right" path.
