Book 5: Tooltip for Chaos Legion upgrades are not very accurate, as weapons and armors upgrade are basically humans' upgrades, Chaos Wings' Ensnare is Orc Raiders' and it is rather confusing to know which upgrade benefit which unit, especially when Chaos Wings and Chaos Soldiers both have Ensnare - albeit different versions.
Does Master Upgrade of Chaos Chariot do anything? Adept Upgrade unlock Rejuvenation, but do not increase mana capacity although the tooltip described so. The same situation happened with Master Upgrade, albeit no spell is unlocked.
Hikaru's Awakened Swordsman animation is rather... odd, as using a longsword is not very similar to using two warglaives, because I believe the class' animation is Demon Hunter's.

This is what I did this weekend. Not that I know what I'm doing with it. Just know she's hot in this outfit.

Li Ming (HotS) Lunar Festival outfit.

He was at one point going to dual-wield, but I decided against that since both Shizuka and Kurumi already do that.

News for 5/19/19

Wanderers of Sorceria 4th Edition updated with the following changes:

* Updated Models: Mizuki (updated animations and hair physics shared with Shizuka), Hokuto (renamed animation tags, replaced animations that you didn't see in the first place with ones you still won't see), Yue Fang (fixed animations), Selene, Phoebe. Fixed Kevin's Hero Glow bleeding onto other units.
* Book 1, Chapter 7: Fixed Black Dream using the wrong model.
* Book 1, Chapter 8: Fixed Black Dream using the wrong model.
* Book 5, General: Chaos Chariots benefit from their upgrades. Chaos Wing no longer has Ensnare and Ensnare is no longer a Chaos Legion research.
* Book 6, General: Reorganized the Extra Heroes, which will no longer be available to be selected by default.

==============================

From this point if there's no more outstanding bugs that need fixing I'm going to put more attention toward working on X3.

I just finished Book 6, and there are not much that need to fix, and most of them are not very important from my point.
A Nara reference in Sorceria Core (Kurumi). I expect to find more of them in Book 6 though.
Hikaru being unable to move when resurrected if he dies during Mirror Slice.
Chaos Legion tech tree have a lot to fix, which I will need some time to list all of the problems (mostly tooltips of many upgrades being copy-paste from the Azorbian tech tree though - although one that really bug me is the not-functioning Call to Arms, which exist on both Chaos Legion and Azorbian town hall structure).
And what will X3 be about? Will it be about Scaldar, Johan, or will it continue the story of the Fire Wheels?
ED1: In the Razlia fight, Shizuka cannot use Tether posts (it is said that they had Resistant Skin).

Yeah there's a logical flaw in the 'abort' function that doesn't restore movement if the caster dies. It's the only ability coded like that (Lunar Dragon Strike is instead coded to only do things if the caster isn't dead instead of checking when to abort so it doesn't suffer from the same problem)

I should only be so lucky Mirror Slice is only used in Books 5 and 6 and X1 because fixing the spell triggers is one of the most time consuming things to fix.

I have no idea why it was like that; it probably made sense at the time.

The subject character is currently Mizuki and the intention is to resolve the plot thread with Hokuto and Vance along with it (and what the conspiracy is really up to and why it wants the Mekani Factory so badly).

Right now I'm trying to figure out which characters fit into this story so I can figure out how to use them (right now it's just the core four Fire Wheels, Hokuto, and Miranda because the latter two will have a beef with Pixy Amy), and trying to figure out how I can put in a playable Zerg army level while I'm at it (which was always my intention with adding them into X2).

I previously thought the X3's subject would be Miranda for I saw Luka and Miku in the editor. Well, since it turns out to be Mizuki I wonder if there are chances for those two to show up ?
I myself tried to put Emperor's New Clothes on in X2 and found something interesting, will it be possible to be avaliable in the future? :durr:
And in X2 the Butterfly Costume's icon has no DISBTN so it turns green when pausing.

The Emperor's New Clothes is an old folktale about conmen who sold an emperor clothes that only the foolish could not see. Naturally the clothes were completely fake, but nobody wanted to admit to being 'unable to see the clothes' until a child pointed out that the emperor was naked. So yes, the Emperor's New Clothes is basically another way of saying 'naked.'

Internally it's a default state and the item itself shouldn't be available.

I was toying with Miku for a while, but that plan obviously didn't happen; it was going to be somewhat along the lines of what Sharon Apple does in Macross Plus dueling Miranda and Kurumi somewhat like the two lead girls in Macross Frontier. It went all over the place and didn't go anywhere so I put that Kurumi/Idol Singer thing in Book 1 and went with something else for Miranda (which is still very much a side story, but the end result will still be the same for her).

The biggest obstacle is the characters bypassed that entire scenario above by unplugging Miku (sometimes your characters just defy you like that so that story was no longer worth telling).

Luka is because I prefer her to Miku, that's all.

Kurumi aspiring to be an idol seemed to fit with her general attention-oriented goals she has (at first I thought she was going to be the fashionista, but somehow that didn't stick). That, and her appearance is a little reminiscent of Ranka Lee.

I would like to report some of the bugs I encountered throughout my walkthrough of Book 1 and Book 2 and also, some of the things that I found unusual, whether intentional or not.

Book 1:

Chapter 2, Part 2: Resistance:
- Johan's Battle Charge can be used to skip Miranda's section and straight to Shion's boss fight. After the boss fight, Miranda no longer appears on stage and can't be recruited. Also, Shion is classified as Undead for some reasons.

Book 2:

Chapter 3, Part 2: Shadow of the Tower:
- Kosseimaru's Frost Wave's description has the history of Six's Frost Wave instead. I have not checked other chapters yet.

Chapter 4: Family Reunion:
- At the start of the level, the Green Drake and Green Dragon Whelps at the north of the Nerubian base attacked the Ancient Ziggurat near the Graveyard, despite having limted range and lack of vision. I restarted the level and the Ziggurat disappeared, and the Dragons stopped attacking. I restarted again and it was back to normal. Is it a Warcraft bug?
- Blade Barriers cost no foods, but the Skeletons spawned from them cost 1 food. Same with Chapter 6.
- When I reached the Troll ambush location, the dialogue is played, but they were nowhere to be found. I later found out that they are on the cliffs near that zone.

Chapter 5: Foreign Ruin:
- The golems are still summoned and the dialogue related to it is still played, even if the Spirit Walker is dead before you enter his zone.

Chapter 7, Part 1: Fallen Comrades:
- When Kosseimaru is hidden after Senryu's Soul Trap section, he can still use Raise Dead on nearby corpses due to auto-casting.

Secret Level: Fight Dragon:
- After I failed the mission, an unskippable cinematic similar to the one at the end of Chapter 8 is played, from the Library section.

A general issue that I encountered is that Kosseimaru is very hard to select on screen when he is in the middle of the attack animation. And also, I want to ask if there is a way to duplicate Black Moon Orbs at the end of Book 5. Overall, thank you for making and constantly updating this campaign.

Along with the fixes for the previous, experimenting with giving Yue Fang a thrusting attack instead of Max Shockwave when applicable (generally just that one level in Book 5 and all of Book 6). Works along the same lines as Johan's Aura Fist where it's just a graphical change, but the more I'm using it the more I want it to be a more conventional attack for her (because she doesn't have any attack abilities).

Beside which, Max Shockwave was really not her type of move (it came from Cliff in Star Ocean 3 and he's a fisticuff-type person where Yue Fang is a sword-type so this is like that big thrusting attack Charlotte from Samurai Shodown has).

Also, it may be my imagination, but Spellbreakers seem to be unusually more vicious in Book 5, Ch8-4 because somehow I got put into a perpetual zero mana territory and was unable to do anything. I wonder if something in the patch changed because that's not supposed to happen.

Book 6 - Beginning of The End: the level crashes before Xine starts his lines, maybe because of 1.31. More crashes to come potentially.

Yeah I found that out earlier today. I'm trying to figure out what's causing it.

Although in my case it happens shortly after selecting any character, no matter which mode.

And for some reason Director Xine is missing from the crystal. It may have something to do with everything.

ED: It IS Director Xine that's causing it; I did a light refurbish of his model and now it's no longer crashing (not to mention his portrait actually shows up now). I wonder if I should bother to rig him up some animations or leave him stiff (probably leave stiff, since he IS in a crystal).

I think the new 1.31.0 patch is very unstable and has too many bugs. Lots of RPG maps can't run successfully. The most annoying thing is if I use the editor to save the maps from older version then the strings in the map will disappear...
I keep the version 1.30.4 now and the game won't crash. But in Beginning of the End I found Hikaru was missing in the cinematics, since I was playing NGP+ and that didn't affect much.

I think Blizzard changed something about how the models are treating Extents because I was busy trying to fix the issues with Kosseimaru and Abolisher, and running Recalculate Extents in Magos fixed both of them. And that's all I did with Director Xine's model and now everything's hunky dory (which makes no real sense; I made that model back in 2003 and never touched it again until today).
NovaLan wrote:I think the new 1.31.0 patch is very unstable and has too many bugs.
It is. From what I can tell it's exactly what was put on the PTR a month ago with no changes.

=========

As an experiment I tried to generate the new Orb of Fire in the campaign, but the game wouldn't let me. It doesn't exist in the static data files, apparently.

News for 6/3/19

Wanderers of Sorceria 4th Edition updated with the following changes:

* Updated Models: Fixed Director Xine from crashing the game in Patch 1.31 and repaired his missing portrait. Fixed Abolisher being unable to be selected in general and made his force bubble more visible (which serves as his selection box); reduced the size and intensity of his Hero Glow. Fixed Kosseimaru being unable to be selected during his attack animations.
* Updated Abilities: Yue Fang's Max Shockwave replaced with Violent Lunge. Added new graphics to Battle Charge and Leg Sweep. Fixed Mirror Slice making the caster unable to move if they happen to die in the middle of its animation sequence. Changed Frost Wave's flavor text to be more generic (it really didn't make much sense even in context). Changed the base ID of Cripple-based abilities (Cripple (Hero), Cripple (Naga), Hamstring) to future-proof it against the melee patch (this should only really affect the Cripple (Naga) spell anyway and probably not so much since only Morkoth casters use it). Changed the base ID of Carrion Beetles (Lurker) to the neutral hostile Raise Dead for future-proofing purposes.
* General: Spawned Skeleton Warriors and Spiders cost 0 food regardless of how they enter the map to fix a discrepency in unit spawning abilities.
* Book 1, Chapter 2: Fixed potential skip directly to the Shion Boss fight if you had not picked up Miranda yet. Removed Shion's Undead tag.
* Book 2, Chapter 4: Moved Ancient Ziggurats to the south end of the base. Adjusted the size of the Ambush zones.
* Book 2, Chapter 6: Added checks to ensure the dialogue units yelling at you are still alive when they trigger.
* Book 2, Chapter 7: Disable Kosseimaru's Raise Dead autocast when he's not under your control.
* Book 2, Fight Dragon: Disable the cinematic when you lose because it was moved to a different part. You just flat out lose.
* Book 3, General: Removed Call to Arms from Chaos Citadel, Peasants, and Town Halls.
* Book 4, General: Fixed all the Player shops to contain their global inventory instead of all custom inventories with identical inventories minus the Tome of Retraining.
* Book 5, General: Removed Call to Arms from Chaos Citadel, Peasants, and Town Halls.
* Book 5, Chapater 8-4: Fixed tooltip error on Command Aura. Moved Command Aura off the command card for space reasons (negates previous fix, oh well?). All of Yue Fang's spells cost no Mana instead of a trivial amount of mana.
* Book 5, Chapater 8-5: All of Scaldar's spells cost no mana instead of a trivial amount of mana.
* Book 6, General: Removed Ensnare from Chaos Wing and Call to Arms from Chaos Citadel.
* Book 6, Sorceria Core: Fixed Zava's name.
* Book 6, Final Chapter: Removed Resistant Skin from Harpoon Posts.
* X2, General: Changed icon for the Buttefly Dress.

Looking into it further, it seems there was an actual problem with Director Xine's model where he didn't have enough Pivot Points for objects on his model. Basically his model wasn't good in the first place and it wasn't noticed before because it was very rarely used and didn't crash the game before.
