Book 2 - Fallen Comrades

Hello!
I'm playing Chapter 7 of Book 2 and I have two questions about it:
1) The Human flags and Night Elf flags dropped by the enemy heroes after recovering all of the Arcadian generals have any use or are there just for fun?
2) In the secrets section of the website it's reported that after defeating all the Blood Riders a Pit Lord appears near the statue directly to the left of the Waygate near the Satyr base. I successfully ended the first main quest, the one about recovering all the generals and Miranda, so I think I've defeated all the Blood Riders, but the Pit Lord isn't anywhere. Is it normal? Or I'm missing something?
