Of all the flamewalkers who followed Ragnaros into the world of Azeroth, Shazzrah is the most talented in the realm of the arcane.

Shazzrah was a firewalker and a servant of Ragnaros. When Ragnaros was summoned into Azeroth by Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan, Shazzrah joined his master there and made his home in the Molten Core. While most firewalkers have a natural affinity for fire magic, Shazzrah stands out from the crowd due to his unusual mastery of arcane magic.

He was fascinated by the magical potential of the Talisman of Elemental Binding, which contained the last of the essence of Prince Thunderaan. He hoped to study it, and use the remaining essence trapped inside to empower himself. However, in order to do so he would first need to get the two halves of the Talisman from their current guardians, Baron Geddon and Garr. To that end, he helped to stock the ongoing feud between the two fire elementals.

However, his plans never came to fruition, as he was killed by adventurers when they raided the Molten Core.

The corruption of Maraudon affected this elemental significantly more than the other natural fauna.

Razorlash was corrupted by the satyr, Lord Vyletongue, to serve as a companion for the similarly corrupted water elemental, Noxxion. It would often travel through the caverns of Maraudon, helping to speed its corruption by destroying any untainted plant life it came across. Razorlash was weeded by adventurers.

Obsessed with reviving the Old Gods, I journeyed deep into this lair to try and draw power from the cursed beast, Aku'mai! -Morridune

Aku'mai was an ancient hydra, and a favoured pet of the Old Gods. With her master's defeat and imprisonment at the hands of the Titans, Aku'mai was left to fend for herself. She did quite well, terrorizing the region that would become the Zoram Strand for ages. Following The Shattering, Aku'mai made a new lair for herself within the remains of a ruined and abandoned night elf temple, which would one day become known as Blackfathom Deeps.

Naga and satyr, likely drawn to the temple due their status as former night elves, also made their homes in Blackfathom Deeps. They were wise enough to avoid Aku'mai, and for the most part Aku'mai ignored them in return. Only the recent arrivals, the Twilight's Hammer, have been foolish enough to approach the hydra. Led by :huwhaa: Twilight Lord Kelris, the Twilight's Hammer worshipped her as a herald of the Old God's imminent arrival. Seeking to gain her favour, the Twilight's Hammer offered her many sacrifices, although with her insatiable hunger she would still snack on any cultist who came too close.

Following the Twilight's Hammer's defeat following the Cataclysm, new arrivals in Black Fathom Deeps, now one of the cult's few remaining strongholds, resulted in something of a coup. As a result, many of their former leadership were in turn sacrificed to Aku'mai. This included Twlight Lord Kelris, and Lady Sarevess. Domina, who had personally sacrificed her predecessor, Lady Sarevess, to Aku'mai then proceeded to increase the number of sacrifices fed to Aku'mai. As a result of Domina increasing Aku'mai's diet of sacrificial victims, or perhaps of the increasing influence of the Old Gods during the Cataclysm, Aku'mai was transformed.

Image

Further twisted by corrupt magics, Aku'mai has taken on a new form. Growing considerably greater in size, she is now known as Aku'mai the Devourer. Her current fate is unknown. Presumed killed by adventurers, but she's a hydra, a favourite of the Old Gods, and we don't see her actual body in her current form.

"I'll make an offering of your blood!"

Grandmaster Vorpil was an orc warlock and the leader of the remnants of the Shadow Council in Outland. Together with Blackheart the Incinter, he had been dispatched by Gul'dan to study the draenei necropolis of Auchindoun. His relative obscurity and hidden location resulted in him surviving Ogrim Doomhammer's purging of the Shadow Council's ranks from the Old Horde. As a result, he has succeeded Gul'dan himself as Grandmaster of the Shadow Council.

Vorpil currently dabbles in powers beyond his ken, having summoned the primordial elemental of sound, Murmur. Despite their efforts, Vorpil and the Shadow Council were unable to control the elemental, and its very summoning resulted in the destruction of Auchindoun and the creation of the Bone Wastes. Now, Vorpil and his minions struggle to contain the powerful primordial elemental. He is also known to possess many books an dark magic and demons, including the Lexicon Demonica, and Codex of Blood.

Grandmaster Vorpil was killed by adventurers when they infiltrated the Shadow Labyrinth.

Image

In his youth, prior to rising in the ranks and becoming Grandmaster, he was known as Vorpil Ribcleaver. In an alternate past, he took part in the Shadow Council's assault on the draenei city of Telmor, where he personally slaughtered many of the cities inhabitants. He had one of the pieces of the Auch'naaru crystal, a powerful draeneic crystal that helped to empower the defences of Auchindoun, in his possession. Adventurers killed him, and reclaimed the fragment of the crystal from him.

"None can stand against the Serpent Lords!"

Lady Anacondra was a night elf druid and member of the Order of the Fang. She was formally known as Scarletleaf. As Scarletleaf, she was once a student of the druid, Naralex, and travelled with him on his mission to transform the Barrens into a place less barren. When Naralex was trapped within a nightmare in the Emerald Dream, however, his nightmare quickly consumed his students, and began to corrupt the Wailing Caverns where the Druids of the Fang had made their homes. Driven mad by her master's nightmares turned reality, Scarletleaf discarded her old name, and became Lady Anacondra. Rather than heal the Barrens, Lady Anacondra and the Druids of the Fang now seek to rule it and establish a new, snake-oriented dominion.

Lady Anacondra was killed by adventurers sent to cleanse the Wailing Caverns of the corruption tainting it.

The quillboar's allegiance with the Scourge has made them nothing more than diseased husks. -Belnistrasz

Plaguemaw the Rotting was an undead quillboar. He served as the guardian an idol which served as a sacrificial oven. Victims would be thrown in, and simultaneously sacrificed as an offering and cooked. Their remains would then be devoured by the quillboar.

The red dragon, Belnistrasz sought to extinguish the idol, however he was captured in the process, while he was in his human form. He was soon rescued by adventurers, who he managed to recruit to aid him, as he would be defenceless while conducting the ritual necessary to extinguish the idol. Plaguemaw sought to defend the idol, however he was destroyed in the process.

"Welcome to the great show, friends. Step right up to die!"

Jin'do the Hexxer was a Gurubashi troll witch doctor, member of the Hakkari, and mastermind of the efforts to resurrect Hakkar the Soulflayer in Zul'Gurub. He was also responsible for brainwashing the High Priests of the Gurubashi and placing them under Hakkar's control.

With Yeh'kinya's successful delivery of the egg containing the essence of the Avatar of Hakkar, Jin'do was able to successfully summon the Blood God in Zul'Gurub. With the Soulflayer's presence in Zul'Gurub, and the High Priests under his control, it seemed like nothing could possibly threaten Zul'Gurub, or the Gurubashi's renewed ascendency. Which, naturally, was when the Zandalari and their adventurers friends showed up to ruin everything.

Jin'do the Hexxer was killed by adventurers, when they stormed Zul'Gurub. That, however, was not the end of him. Jin'do's spirit remained, and he clawed his way back into the world of the living. With the aid of Zanzil the Outcast, he successfully resurrected High Priest Venoxis, and attempted to do the same to High Priestess Jeklik, although adventurers interrupted his ritual before it could be completed.

His position of power within Zul'Gurub secure once more, and the meddlesome adventurers off bothering someone else, Jin'do set about renewing his efforts to summon Hakkar when he received an interesting offer. The Zandalari, who had not once, but twice, interfered in his schemes were now offering to help him. The Zandalari now sought to restore the troll empires of old, and bring their species back from the brink of extinction. Jin'do readily agreed. With the new knowledge shared to him, Jin'do instead bound Hakkar's spirit, draining power from the Blood God and empowered himself with it.

Image
"Welcome to de great show, friends. Just wait 'til ya see what I got in store for ya."

Having bound his own god to his will, Jin'do restyled himself as Jin'do the Godbreaker. With the Soulflayer's power at his command, Jin'do would make his dreams of restoring the Gurubashi Empire to its former heights of power and glory a reality. Only those meddlesome adventurers stood in his way! The Darkspear Tribe, the lone troll tribe to refuse the Zandalari's offer, filled the void left by the Zandalari and rallied adventurers, both of the Horde and Alliance, to fight against the Gurubashi.

Jin'do was defeated by adventurers, and he can only wish that they'd killed him. Instead, they freed Hakkar from his control, and let him have the troll witch doctor. Hakkar reclaimed his stolen power, and killied Jin'do in a painful and horrible way in the process. He also claimed Jin'do's soul, presumably to flay, since that's what he does.

"She feeds Kirtonos the Herald with the blood of countless innocents."

Jandice Barov was a member of the Barov family, a former member of the Kirin Tor, and expert illusionist. She later, along with most of her family, aligned herself with the Cult of the Damned, and through them, the Scourge.

She now dwells in Scholomance, her spirit having been freed from her body and persisting as a ghost. It's unknown if this is the type of immortality she was expecting or wanted when she signed up with the Cult of the Damned, or if this transformation was even performed willingly.

She was also an expert tailor, and designed the Felcloth Bag for holding Soul Shards. As Soul Shards are no longer an in-game item for warlocks, it's now just an ordinary bag.

Image
"Oh, careful not to bleed on the rug, please dear?"

Jandice Barov's spirit continued to haunt Scholomance as a member of the Cult of the Damned, even after her family was freed from the Lich King's influence. She eventually chose to join the school's teaching staff, teaching members of the Cult of the Damned about illusion magic.

She was defeated by adventurers when they stormed Scholomance. Her father, Alexei Baorv, reduced a floating, talking skull, guided adventurers through Scholomance in an effort to break the curse binding their family there. With the death of Darkmaster Ganding, her soul was free to leave, although it is currently unknown if she has actually done so.

"You mortals are nothing to my kind! Do you hear me? Nothing!"

Nefarian was a black dragon, the son of Deathwing, mad scientist, and Lord of Blackrock Spire. From the top of the Spire, he commanded the Black Dragonflight, and the Dark Horde. While his chosen commanders, General Drakkisath, and Warchief Rend Blackhand, led his forces against the Dark Iron Dwarves and the minions of Ragnaros, Nefarian spent most of his time in scientific experimentation.

In his scientific endeavours, Nefarian sought to create a new dragonflight, one under his command, of course, by combining the strengths and powers of all five dragonflights. His success was mixed, as many proved unstable, however he was able to produce some viable specimen, such as Gyth, the chromatic drake that served as Rend Blackhand's mount.

After successfully corrupting the red dragon, Vaelastrasz, he claimed the Red Dragonflight's piece of the Sceptre of the Shifting Sands. He then attempted to destroy it. Had he been successful, he would have likely doomed Kalimdor to being overrun by the silithid.

Adventurers, having fought their way up the spire, defeating Rend, Drakisath and his other minions along the way, finally engaged him in battle. By turning their own powers against them, he was able to defeat the adventurers, and drive them out of his lair. He was, however, killed when he attempted to devour a Toyota Tacoma while visiting Azshara.

Image
"I have tried to be an accommodating host, but you simply will not die! Time to throw all pretence aside and just... KILL YOU ALL!"

Having a pickup truck burst through his chest would not be the end of Nefarian, however. Deathwing, soon after his return to Azeroth, raised Nefarian from the dead. Seeing the value in his experiments, Deathwing tasked Nefarian to renew his efforts and continue them. To that end, Nefarian returned to Blackrock Mountain, and established a new lair and laboratory for himself there. His new lair, Blackwing Descent, was hidden much deeper within the mountain than his old lair. Nefarian continued his experiments, however he also developed a new fascination with undeath, possibly as a result of his own newly acquired undead state. From these experiements, he brought his sister, Onyxia, back to life, albeit as some sort of mindless electrical powered zombie dragon.

Despite his defences, minions, monsters, and all his snark, adventurers stormed Blackwing Descent and killed him a second time.

"Your life is forfeit!"

Noth the Plaguebringer was a powerful necromancer and alchemist in the service of the Scourge. He was at work refining the Scourge's Plague of Undeath, hoping to make it far more dangerous than it already was.

Prior to joining the ranks of the Scourge, Noth had been a well respected member of the Kirin Tor. Heeding the call of the Lich King, and desiring the power offered by him, Noth joined the Cult of the Damned, and agreed to serve his former compatriot, Kel'thuzad. As the Third War dragged on, the weight of the countless innocent deaths in Lordaeron began to weigh on his conscience. Noth began to second guess his actions, and wondered if all this death, plague, zombies, and demons was all really worth it. Kel'thuzad was happy to help him through his troubles, by freezing his still beating heart in ice and removing any remaining compassion Noth had. Freed from his own conscience, Noth was now able to function as a loyal and dedicated member of the Scourge should!

Following the end of the Third War, and the Scourge's domination of eastern Lordaeron, Noth came to be relocated to Naxxramas, where he continued his research into refining the Plague of Undeath. He also seems to have developed something of a rivalry and/or deep loathing of Heigan the Unclean. Was Noth jealous of Heigan's sweet dance moves? Or because Heigan's plague cauldron design got more attention than his more virulent and infectious plagues?

Noth was defeated when agents of the Argent Dawn and Scarlet Crusade stormed Naxxramas. He quickly recovered, however, in time to enjoy a short vacation in the Scarlet Enclave.

Image
"Heigan is probably performing maintenance on his slime and crap filled dance studio."

Noth was dispatched to aid the Knights of Archeus in their invasion of the Scarlet Enclave. Much to his annoyance, he was tasked with setting up one of Heigan's plague cauldron in the ruins of Havenshire. Increasing his frustrations, it seems that someone had forgotten to supply Noth with the necessary supplies and equipment to actually build a plague cauldron. Fortunately, Noth was able to recruit death knights to help him steal the necessary items from nearby New Avalon.

Following the defection of the Knights of Archeus, the formation of the Knights of the Ebon Blade, and their capture of the Ebon Hold, Noth left the Plaguelands and returned to Naxxramas, now relocated to Northrend.

During Naxxramas' assault on Wintergarde, adventurers stormed Naxxramas and defeated Noth once more. Noth is presumed to have been brought back once more, and is currently occupying his time by playing Hearthstone.

"You will never wake the dreamer!"

Lord Cobrahn, formally known as Jarlaxla, was a druid and former member of the Cenarion Circle. He was well known for his talent in shapeshifting, and chose to join Naralex in his quest to transform the Barrens into a lush, verdant garden. However, he was corrupted by the Emerald Nightmare after Naralex was ensnared by it, and used a conduit to spread its corruption in Azeroth. Mastering the ability to transform himself into a giant snake, Jarlaxla chose to restyle himself as Lord Cobrahn, as he and his fellow Fanglords plan to take over the Barrens, and spread the corruption of the Emerald Dream.

Corrupted beyond the point of restoration, Lord Cobrahn was killed by adventurers.

Woven together out of skeletons and dark magic, Rattlegore is one the guardians of Scholomance.

Rattlegore was a bone golem and agent of the Scourge. He initially served as a guardian of Scholomance, where he guarded the Great Ossuary. He was killed by adventurers, most likely by a party including an Alliance paladin, or Horde shaman, seeking the incorporeal death knight who dwelt in his chamber.

Image

Rattlegore was soon reconstructed, however, and sent by Darkmaster Gandling to Andorhal, to help the Scourge forces there against the Alliance and Forsaken forces attempting to claim the ruined city. Rattlegore was destroyed by Alliance adventurers, and the Scourge forces led by Araj the Summoner routed. Darkmaster Gandling, however, recovered his minion's remains after the Battle of Andorhal, and set about reconstructing him once more.

Image
"Rattlegore!"

Gandling used this opportunity to rebuild Rattlegore to make him stronger, faster, and more powerful than ever. It was to no avail, however, as Rattlegore was destroyed once more by adventurers and Lilian Voss. With Gandling's own death soon after, and the current state of the Scourge, it seems unlikely that Rattlegore will be reconstructed any time soon.

The wolf-men slaughtered the Scourge, then quickly turned on the wizards themselves and laid siege to the keep of the noble Baron Silverlaine

Baron Silverlaine was a baron, master of Shadowfang Keep, and ruler of Pyrewood village and much of Silverpine Forest before the arrival of the Scourge in Lordaeron. Following the destruction of Dalaran, he served as a host to Archmage Arugal who sought safety and shelter within his keep. Arugal was convinced that he could summon creatures to help fend off the Scourge. Desperate for any way to save his people from the seemingly unstoppable wave of undeath sweeping across Lordaeron, Baron Silverlaine was happy to provide Arugal with the space and resources he needed to pursue his research. While initial tests seemed successful, Arugal soon lost control of the worgen he'd summoned, and they soon turned on their former master's allies. Overwhelming Commander Springvale and the keep's defenders, they slaughtered anyone inside, including Baron Silverlaine himself.

Silverlaine's spirit remained within his keep, haunting the halls and attacking anyone who would tresspass within. Although he was defeated by adventurers, his spirit would always return to the place that was once his home.

Image
"Leave this accursed place at once!"

Arugal, long driven mad by the actions of his worgen, was killed by adventurers. For a time, the keep lay empty and abandoned. However, following the Cataclysm, the keep gained several new occupants, a group of Forsaken rebels led by the former Gilnean noble, Lord Godfrey, who claimed it as their own base of operations. Godfrey made use of the spirits haunting the castle, using them as part of his defences against any intruders.

When adventurers came to defeat Lord Godfrey, they defeated Baron Silverlaine. However, that was only a short reprieve, and his spirit, knowing no release, still haunts Shadowfang Keep.

From the infernal depths of the Molten Core, the Harbinger commands Ambassador Flamelash and the other lesser flamewalkers in the outside world.

Ambassador Flamelash was a flamewalker in the service of Ragnaros, and is under the direct command of Sulfuron Harbinger, the herald of Ragnaros. He was tasked with acting as an ambassador to the Fire Lord's mortal allies/servants/slaves, the Dark Iron Dwarves. While he initially unimpressed by the dwarves, he has since come to respect them, mostly for their ability to break things. He's since taken up residence in the Chamber of Enchantment, where he helps the Dark Iron Dwarves to enchant their weapons.

Flamelash was defeated by Magni's hit squad of adventurers, sent to Blackrock Depths to “rescue” his daughter from the “vile clutches” of Emperor Thaurissian. Flamelash was able to survive the grievous bodily harm he suffered however.

Image
"Let the assault continue. Reduce their capital to cinders! Revel in the sacred flame!"

After receiving a promotion, Grand Ambassador Flamelash marshaled Ragnaros' forces against the mortal races of Azeroth during the Elemental Invasion. His fire elementals were responsible for setting much of Orgimmar ablaze, and it would be years before the city recovered from the assault. Seeking to halt the elemental attacks, and hoping to prevent the impending Cataclysm, a strike force of adventurers led by Magni Bronzebeard or Garrosh Hellscream launched a counterattack on him and his minions. Grand Ambassador Flamelash was killed, although his death did little to halt the impending Cataclysm.

"This desert be mine!"

Chief Ukorz Sandscalp was the chief of the Sandfury Tribe, and ruler of Zul'Farrak. With increasing encroachment in Tanaris by outsiders, Ukorz had dedicated himself to restoring the Sandfury and Zul'Farrak to their former glory. To that end, he sought a means to drive the outsiders out of his people's desert. He tasked his tribe's hydromancer, Velratha, with awakening Ghaz'rilla, the mighty hydra who slept beneath Zul'Farrak, and use it against the tribe's enemies. Additionally, he also searched for a sword forged by the Sandfury in ages past, Sul'thraze the Lasher. The weapon had been split in two and hidden, as some members of the Sandfury tribe had feared its power.

Ukorz brokered a deal with Cho'gall and the Twilight's Hammer. They would help them further empower Ghaz'rilla, and unleash it upon Thunderbluff and Stormwind. In return, Cho'gall promised to reward them for their loyalty and dedication to the Old Gods. However, with Ghaz'rilla's defeat, it seems as though Cho'gall withdrew his support for the Sandfury. Shortly afterwards, the Cataclysm struck, which disrupted the city's water supplies, making the situation even more dire for the Sandfury.

In the search for Sul'thraze, Ukorz promised to reward anytroll who brought it to him. To that end, Mazoga pretended to aid the high elf blacksmith, Trenton Lighthammer, in his own quest for the blade. Trenton hired an adventurer to help him, and together Mazoga and the adventurer managed to recover one half of Sul'thraze, Sang'thraze the Deflector. It was at the point when Mazoga revealed he had already recovered the other half, Jang'thraze, combined the two, betrayed the adventurer and claimed Sang'thraze for himself. Although unable to defeat the adventurer, Mazoga fled the battle and retreated to the safety of Zul'Farrak to claim his reward from Ukorz. Unfortunately for Mazoga, Ukorz betrayed him, killing Mazoga and taking Sang'thraze for himself.

Ukorz was killed by adventurers, alongside his friend and trusted companion, Ruuzulu. He was succeeded by Sul the Sandcrawler, who would later join the Zandalari in their quest to restore the Troll Empires of old.
