I don't think it's possible to miss currently. I'm not seeing it happen often at least.

Missing is retarded anyways, even Hellgate got rid of it.

It's realistic.

IE: If you swing at something in front of you, you will HIT the damn thing.

I hate miss mechanics.

Now, if they had the animation budget to script cool Matrix-style dodging manuevers when you miss a monster, then that'd be pretty cool. Without visual feedback, however, miss mechanics simply disrupt immersion.

You guys are missing the whole point of the game.

Mesk. Physics alone won't save Diablo 3.

And no, I didn't play it.

A developer that has been owned by a media conglomerate since 1994. While independently managed, they still have a bottom line, and every feature has a cost and priority.

What I was saying isn't so much about whether Blizzard could afford to do it, rather what it would take to make a small mechanic like missing work well. It'd be cool, but expensive, and for a company looking at returns, it's a lot more economical to simply cut the mechanic when its impact on gameplay is relatively minor.

Definitely sure. All kinds of games promise something new, yet they focus on it and not on the other IMPORTANT things which is graphics quality, sound, gameplay and such. A great example of it is STORMRISE (Which's a console port as well), in which it's "Whip Select" feature alone didn't save the game, with it's horrible texture work, clunky AI, glitched controls, lousy ending, poor camera management, and the list goes on. The only thing good out of it was voice acting and music, but still it wasn't enough.

Need more, Lav?

Actually, I think D3 is something I may end up doing an LP of. I mean, it has its weird shit and I don't agree with the decisions made in the graphics, but on its own it isn't as bad as Titan Quest or the million other clones. It doesn't disappoint me as much as sc2 did.

Let's see... No AA yet, No Ultra settings yet, some still clear beta issues with sound including missing options, and bugs galore.. Oh, that's right, we're all playing and watching a beta, not a release.

You can't judge any of those aspects until the game's released.

Remember B.Net 2.0 for WoL? In Beta. Mesk told the Diablo 3 beta is likely to be like that in gold. I fully agree with him.
