Yes, someone out there actually learned you can earn more money by not C&D'ing every third party project that pops up. Which is hilarious coming from GW.

They've had blood DLC since Shogun 2, you're about 5 years late.Hercanic wrote:Whoops, correction, Total War: Warhammer was just released this year, May of 2016, not 2015. The game itself looks interesting, but holy crap what are they even thinking with their DLC? "Blood for the Blood God" is $3 and, get this, adds blood sprites to the game. ... ... ...
Relic was under THQ, then THQ went out of business and Sega picked up the studio. Relic is the developer of Dawn of War 3, so as far as 40k goes they're still in the game.Revolta wrote:Relic used to develop warhammer fantasy and 40k before the company was sold to sega or something of that nature
Well shit, that just makes it all the worse. It's not a one-time mistake, like Horse Armor, but a part of their continued goddamn market strategy. I feel queasy.wibod wrote:They've had blood DLC since Shogun 2, you're about 5 years late.
I'm only aware of expansions like Soulstorm, Dark Crusade, and Winter Assault that added new races and campaigns. For DoW 2 it was Chaos Rising and Retribution, again adding new races and such.IskatuMesk wrote:Relic is notorious for their asinine DLC in Dawn of War.

Looking at the Retirbution page in Steam, I see there's $85 of DLC, most of which is Last Stand digital item bullshit, some Last Stand commanders (heroes for a side mode), and a couple skin packs. Oh, and what do we have here, "Ridiculously Bloody Blood Pack". ... ... ... Yeah, it's a $2 increase to the size of blood splats. *facepalm* The fact that this is a thing is making me very sad today.
It's kind of a smart business move when looked at in isolation. They were originally worried about the M ESRB rating hurting sales of Shogun 2 so they released the blood pack DLC since it won't impact that rating as long as it's behind a paywall. At least the blood pack DLCs are generally well done as opposed to the DoW2 one.Hercanic wrote:Well shit, that just makes it all the worse.
