Re: StarEdit.Net campaign contest

Noted.

As for Auspex and Desler, Lav, what have you done with THEM? I'm only kidding of course.

Thanks, Lavarinth, for the information. I know it's not all your fault.

Re: StarEdit.Net campaign contest

He didn't provide any information in person, Lavarinth simply explained why he's been away - he's attending his wedding and related material. He has mentioned this on the forums as well, but I guess no one saw it. Of course, there's lots of other and more important stuff anyone should be doing than...

Re: StarEdit.Net campaign contest

Ah, so my lack of interest in the podcasts has finally been exposed... Then again, if aforementioned legends rely on podcasts alone for providing information surrounding their current status, might I be so bold as to state they may not be as legendary after all? :) I'm not saying podcasts are a lous...

Re: StarEdit.Net campaign contest

Don't know. He seems gone. Anyway, Laconius will not abandon us before releasing something amazing again. But that seems to be the golden rule amongst the legends: release 2 amazing products, then disappear. Well, Desler made a couple more but only a few were legendary. The Sweet Science was promisi...

Re: StarEdit.Net campaign contest

I was being funny (AND serious)! I am an admirer of his work, and he knows it! He's up there with the great ones for me. Auspex, Desler, Oracle and Laconius: the quartet of quality, here to inflict pain on mediocricy.

Let's hope Lac doesn't abandon us like his predecessors.

Re: StarEdit.Net campaign contest

I'm just saying STORY isn't what made Laconius win. He won because he made an awesome campaign with awesome added value, if you will. I know he could have done the same thing with a completely different setting from Starcraft. But he was limited. I don't think anyone else will be able to do what he ...

Re: StarEdit.Net campaign contest

You never know... Many may have thought the same for the '09 contest, and look at what Laconious produced. Obviously, nobody will be able to create something like that in only 4 weeks, but there may still be some surprises left in the starcraft universe. What Laconius made was a feast of tricks and...

Re: StarEdit.Net campaign contest

Then there might as well not be any theme at all. "I wanna make something but it doesn't follow the theme so the whole contest is stupid." The reason the contest is "stupid" is because it's bound to produce nothing we've never seen before and everything we've already seen a thou...

Re: StarEdit.Net campaign contest

Which only illustrates what I was saying, now AND then, many campaigns have gone down the beaten path already. We don't need more.

A challenge would to come up with a campaign that's completely stand alone.

Re: StarEdit.Net campaign contest

And the suggestions given in that thread somewhere are horrible.

Do we really need ANOTHER campaign about Jim Raynor or Zeratul?

Stukov, on the other hand, is interesting. He plays a role in what I'm working on - and I've also got a mini story completely about him. Soon...

UPDATE Terrain http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/4099/shot1o.jpg Wow! A completely revealed map! http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/9875/shot2u.jpg This one needs some work... A LOT more work. I love a beautiful piece of terrain in a Starcraft map. The first couple of missions of this campaign are...
