Re: What... the FUCK... IS THIS???

These images are no doubt supposed to get us hyped up for the next instalment of Starcraft 2. Oh well. I still feel Blizzard should ditch the whole SC2 thing and do another expansion for Starcraft 1. I've finished BW and all fanmade productions of relevance. I want moar.

Re: Steve Jobs Passes Away

While I disliked the iPhone, Macs, and most Apple products, his support for starting Pixar, funding with Disney, Marvel, Lucas Arts, and other great companies wouldn't of grown to what they are now without his support. That is a weird statement. While you disliked Apple, Jobs' support for other com...

Re: New Contest Coming Soon

I sure hope this is a SC:BW contest, I'm not done with that game for another 15 years! :)

There's more - I just posted again.

But seeing as how pronogo is the only who seems to have taken offense (or at least written me an open letter about the White House or something), I might as well take my bold words here.

Re: [Voice Acting] Looking to improve.

Is Torzul Italian? :D

I like how you can hear the voice very clearly through the effects.

I like all, though the DT sounds a bit like a Zerg too, but that's probably because he's in between all them Zerg bastards in the vid.

Re: [Voice Acting] Looking to improve.

I know you could, Imrian was very good. More Starcraft 2-ish, though. I create Protoss voices as a hobby, my disk is filled with samples of my experiments, but I wouldn't call any of them a real success. However, I do think you never value your own work as much as others might. It's like everything ...

Re: The NOMAD Saga

I can only speak for myself, but my problem wasn't just the editor. It's also the lack of Starcraft atmosphere in SC2.

Re: [Voice Acting] Looking to improve.

I'm not trying to imitate him at all, lol. I'm trying to make my own that sound just as good, if not better. I'm just using his briefing as the basis because I don't have any other long briefings that would work as an extensive example of my voice acting talents. I wasn't trying to make fun. Everyb...

Re: [Voice Acting] Looking to improve.

Hey, Your Protoss voices are good. However, voices are a bitch to imitate spot on and yours aren't like Laconius' at all. Whenever the briefing starts, listeners expect the "original" voices to be there but instead they get an imitation. As for the effects, Laconius' Protoss use heavy reve...

Re: [Voice Acting] Looking to improve.

Would another possible fix be amplifying my basic waveform after static reduction? No, loudness isn't the problem. It's clarity. You'd just end up having an amplified unclear voice. Really, the trick is let go of smothering effects as much as you can - meaning: as much as you can while it still sou...

Re: [Voice Acting] Looking to improve.

Pr0nogo, after listening more closely- Your vocals aren't loud enough and therefore, the effects applied kind of drown the voice. It sounds like you're applying layer upon layer, but this usually results in unclarity. Find one or two "smothering effects" (flanger, chorus) and then apply yo...

Re: [Voice Acting] Looking to improve.

Every voice is different.

This has been a hobby of mine of 15 years. I'm still learning every single time I try. Good thread. I'm watching this...

Edit:

I liked your voices, Pro. They're different, but that may also be due to the mic quality.

Show me the effect some time.

Re: Female Protoss Elinah

Selendis is a cutie. What? The one thing that spooks me out more than detailed renderings of a male body (man or alien or creature) is a detailed rendering of a female body. I imagine the 'artist' as he's carefully shaping those feminine curves... Badly, because he's probably never seen a female bo...

Re: StarEdit.Net campaign contest

I don't think I ever finished the game, actually. I just saw the SC2 folder a while ago and figured I'd delete everything inside it. Now there's loads of porn. This StarEdit contest is getting exciting. It must be pretty awkward for Blizz to see so many people still playing that old bastard of a gam...

As for the point you're making- I can't agree with you more. I deleted SC2 from my hard drive months ago and I lost the CD, UNINTENTIONALLY.
