Re: Gamespot greatest villain finals - Kerrigan vs Darth Vad

lol kerrigan best video game villain The fact that she's still in the competition shows how much credibility this contest has... or at the very least it says much about the mentality of the average gamer. -_- Or - the option I want to think about the least of'em all - the appeal of an alien dominatr...

Re: Custom maps - Blizzard increases limits

Ideally it'd be, IMO: no limits whatsoever. :P But as long as we're talking limits, 100 MB/map and 1 GB total limit would suffice for a while. 100MB/map might look huge but considering how one could make an entire voiced campaign take place in one map, featuring lots of custom music, textures, scrip...

Re: Cata music

If there's one thing Blizzard remains top-notch, it's music.

The Night Elf themes in particular are amazing.

Re: My StarCraft campaign ratings

With a good AI b&d can be really, really good.

*points to Blizzard's SC1 AIs*

Yeah, that's what I mean.

In the current state of affairs anything I do for SC2 will likely be b&d with 3 to 5 character transmissions in the entire map (lol @ 20 mb/5 maps limit).

Re: My StarCraft campaign ratings

No way. VE is an amazing campaign, don't get me wrong, but imo, it has no plot/character development. I felt no emotion when the archon dude died at the end, and to be honest, I didn't really know what the campaign was about even while I was playing it. Although the plot wasn't its strongest point,...

Re: To all would-be SC2 mappers & modders:

Excellent post. I for one don't own the game either, but being one who's written 200+ pages worth of scripts for SC2 projects, I'm as worried as you are. If publishing wasn't bad enough, we still have to deal with the - currently extremely low - limits when it comes to uploading and censorship. I've...

Re: My StarCraft campaign ratings

Why is VE ranked higher than BW? No campaign beats the original, no matter how good it may be. VE, LotC and many others surpass SC and BW's campaigns by far in my opinion. ;) In fact it seems that even Blizzard acknowledges this superiority, as they started doing things fans have been doing for the...

Re: First! Now let's talk spoilers (SC2)!

Blizzard and LotC just drank from the same source (Starship Troopers). It's a coincidence, correlation... not a direct consequence. The second map of The Flame Knives - a small dungeon crawler - is inspired by the Metroid series and looks very similar to SC2's nydus infiltration map, but Blizzard, i...

I personally like the new forum, but when images (mostly avatar and sigs) grow more abundant it looks kinda spammy and hurts my eyes.

Re: IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN

I'll get mine a bit after it's been out. Not in any hurry.

I'll probably buy it ~September or early October, which is when I'll have a proper computer and money to buy the game. :)

Re: Triggers In Starcraft

As hydrolisk said, there's a death counter somewhere; set it to zero after adding custom score and you're pretty much set. I used it to make a "loot" system in some of my maps and it worked wonders, giving resources every time an enemy unit died. Switches are basically boolean variables, they're eit...
