Re: General questions regarding the LOTC projects

Actually, I have a few more questions for you, Oracle. ^^ 1. During the development of LOTC for SC2 did you ever think: "F*** it" and instead just remake LOTC and release Episode 3 on SC1 with more custom units & portraits, improved sounds and change in level design based on the feedba...

Re: A music clip

Nice. Good tone.
Is this Joel Steudler's work?

Any chance of releasing the old LOTC trailers and apocalyptic garden soon? :) :)

Re: General questions regarding the LOTC projects

Actually, the portrait smk format required a very specific tool - specifically the old rad tools - to do anything with. Back then it was rather easy to find, not sure about now. Animations aren't an issue, you do that in the 3d application. Which application you used didn't necessarily matter, so l...

Re: Starcraft Universe Trailer

I think the issue here is that there were investors. It would be anticipated that the result coming back would be commensurate to the commitments made by the team (which my understanding is, thus far they haven't but who knows what the future may bring). It wouldn't be the first time the scope of a...

Re: Destiny Awaits

Take a look at the post 'DEPR Memorandum' in this LotC forum. The file will answer your question. More information that is ambiguous and obscure. You're definitely living up to your name, Oracle. :P Remember that there are dumb masses among the crowd here (like me) who wont be able to understand th...

Re: Starcraft Universe Trailer

Kitbash is to take pieces of other models and slap them together to make something "new". It originated in spriting, as you surely saw a lot of things to that extent in Brood War. Some kitbashes are very masterfully done (a few on SEN, and the uplink center HKS made) in which they basical...

A little of topic here, but speaking of the Unreal engine, anyone heard of the debacle with Silicon Knights?

Re: General questions regarding the LOTC projects

Making portraits involves rendering frames from a 3d model, same as sprites. Forgive me for being naive. Don't know much about making models. :P But from what i can guess, its not just the process of making them. There is also a process of trying to find the right tools and converting the models so...

Re: General questions regarding the LOTC projects

Appreciate the comments on Defense Net. Yes that was yours truly. So was Rand. Furlong is a battle.net buddy who I used to do 7 to 1 Comp Stomps with. Ra'Chek was Joel Steudler (who also did a lot of the graphics and both cinematics for the campaign) Angel/Ambrosia was another b.net buddy And Stilw...

Re: General questions regarding the LOTC projects

Yeah that wasnt sexualization that was just bad acting. And Mr. Revolta wins the round. Yes, Halsey voiced by my girlfriend of the time actually. She was good at many many things, but credible voice acting was not among them. Female voices are a rare and precious thing for SC maps after all, so I t...
