Which writer would you pick for a potential Starcraft 3?

Hello friends, As bleak as it may be, some of us - idealistic and naive (speaking of myself) old fans have hope that one day in the not so distant future, a Starcraft game would appear where Blizzard would actually do what they were supposed to do in 2010 and hire a competent writer to write the scr...

Link to classic campaign downloads?

Hi,

I haven't been on the CC website for years. I was expecting to find the old site with many campaign links.

Would anyone know where one can find classic campaigns such as "War of the Tribes", Fenix, etc? Thanks guys!

Re: Ret-Conning Greatly Weakens SC2 Story

Grim Fandango is a very good game. The Longest Journey too...2nd one is OK, though not as good. I feel like BioWare is all there is out there right now. I know Dragon Age copied many basic themes of LOTR-like fantasies, but I still felt involved in the lengthy and well designed game. The attention t...

Re: Ret-Conning Greatly Weakens SC2 Story

Darn, I wish I was one of Blizzard's Execs...I'd spend the $ on a couple of good sci-fi writers (or heck, several good CC writers from here) and have them work their asses off on the game. IskatuMesk, good point on how Black Isle was one of the last story-driven companies with value...though I still...

Re: Ret-Conning Greatly Weakens SC2 Story

BioWare to the rescue! Granted, they have not made a strategy game, but had their writers (who played original SC+BW and understood that story) been behind WoL, we would have had an immensely different experience in single player, instead of all the weak ret-coning and storytelling.

Re: Ret-Conning Greatly Weakens SC2 Story

No one is saying SC1 or even good campaigns like WotT or Fenix are great works of fiction or without any cliches, but they are more than decent and enjoyable sc campaigns with interesting storylines, plot-twists and characters. You can rate them as "B" if you want, but then Wings of Libert...

Re: Ret-Conning Greatly Weakens SC2 Story

So I take it getting through to the graphic designer metzen is just as useful as getting through to graphics designer Lucas about the prequels, right? I partly blame the critics. As you could see from my original post link #2, there are surely at least 10 renowned critics who in some way or the othe...

Ret-Conning Greatly Weakens SC2 Story

Dear CC, One intelligent poster on Battle.Net named Andrew had written a well-thought-out critique of the weaknesses of SC2 plot. The thread has grown to be 70 pages long as of today and is one of the longest, if not the longest threads in the SC2 official forums. http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/t...
