Re: Ret-Conning Greatly Weakens SC2 Story

He got promoted/reassigned. Remember that, in SC1, the player-character was called in to replace Tassadar as the Executor. Unless there can be several Executors at once, it's safe to assume that it was only a temporary title. His promotion doesn't happen during the Protoss campaign in BW since they...

Re: Ret-Conning Greatly Weakens SC2 Story

You're right, minimizing is not the proper term. "Completely ommited" suits it much better, along with Aldaris, Stukov, Dugalle, Duke, Duran and Razsagal. None of these were even mentioned in the SC:BW summary on the official site, as far as I know. Duke and Raszagal are mentioned in-game...

Re: Ret-Conning Greatly Weakens SC2 Story

Except Fenix hasn't been retconned out of existence; last time I checked, he's still mentioned in SC2's online manual (i.e. Braxis's description). Blizzard may have been indeed minimizing his role (which wasn't much to being with) but ultimately chose not to mention him in-game because he wasn't ne...

Re: Photon Cycles, a luminous lightbikes game

Tried it and liked it!

As for the music, how about this:

Noticed the irony of the title?

It's from the now obsolete V4 build of the Streets of Rage Remake. You can download it there:

Judging by the presence of Desinfested Kerrigan on the official artwork, it's safe to assume that there will be substantial announcements regarding HotS. Maybe even a trailer? :-\

Re: The Signal, a Single player scenario

Hmmm... for some reason, after a certain point (the fight with the Immortals), the map keeps crashing whenever I try loading a save.

Re: The Signal, a Single player scenario

You can dodge its attack, and make it look funny while a fast moving unit draws its attention. Ordinary melee and rifle attacks wont penetrate its shields. With proper spell grenade combo you can put it down in one fell swoop. :) Luring it is good, and I tend to favor ambushing it right at the fron...

Re: The Signal, a Single player scenario

*Cough* Because that's not supposed to be a serious project? Well damn... Can't wait for the real deal, then! Anyway, I'm still having problems with the Immortal: I thought I could outsmart it by luring it away, but then another one showed up and my units ended up being sandwiched. Care to g...

Re: The Signal, a Single player scenario

If you say so; I must have missed that as the dialogues don't appear in the message log.

Also, noticed a typo in Marcus's briefing: "An outpostS..."

Re: The Signal, a Single player scenario

Yes. It is supposed to make you feel annoyed, disrupted, and out of control. Did it do its job, or did you find the way to make things more simpler? :) The insane version of that would make the mission really almost impossible to win. I think you overdid it a bit with the forcefields. It's really e...

Re: The Signal, a Single player scenario

Truly impressive!

One slight nitpick though: is the forcefield spam intentional?

Re: SC2 Campaigns?

What bothers me most is that WC3 has campaign support right off the bat. I was honestly shocked and hurt when SC2 came out without this feature. Yeah, but the most curious thing is that, even if it had campaign support, WC3 didn't have that many custom campaigns either. AFAIK, the only official cam...
