Re: [Sound] Whip me, beat me, critique me

My try at the Overmind:
http://www.sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/ ... rmind2.mp3
http://www.sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/ ... bathur.mp3

Too much reverb, echo & distortion again, but this is the base I will use to fine-tune into something better, eventually.

Re: [Sound] Whip me, beat me, critique me

Mesk, what do you know about replicating human speech? Say, if I wanted to create an actual fake recording of Arcturus Mengsk. Apparently vocoders are used for this task, but I gather that this is only the realm of fancy studio equipment, because the vocoder plug-ins I've downloaded do nothing more ...

Re: [Sound] Whip me, beat me, critique me

Tried a new technique: standard flanger filter, but only for the 500-1000 frequency band.

Re: [Sound] Whip me, beat me, critique me

I applied a smoother reverb this time: http://www.sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/sandwichsuccessful.mp3 But still with regular flanger. No luck messing around with autotune. I just can't get the distortion effect I want for Abathur no matter how much I tinker. You use Antares EVO, right Mesk? Wavehamme...

So I took a crack at Abathur for fun: http://www.sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/abathur1.mp3 http://www.sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/abathur2.mp3 Reference: http://www.sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/zBriefing_Hybrid03_EvolutionMaster_017.ogg Unfortunately this is a tough one. No idea how Blizzard gets thei...

After days of banging my head against the desk I feel I've finally made some sort of breakthrough with the HT. :P http://sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/hightemplar10more.mp3 http://sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/hightemplar11.mp3 http://sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/hightemplar12.mp3 Latest Dark Templar: ht...

Re: [Sound] Whip me, beat me, critique me

Huh, it turns out there's actually a time-stretch pitch-shift that comes with my version of Audition. I don't know, it seems better, I'll use it from now on. I also wonder if I need expensive audiophile headphones for audio editing - to hear the extra nuances & stuff like that. Right now my head...

Re: [Sound] Whip me, beat me, critique me

Saw your work on Crainy's trailer. Nicely done. Here is my latest tries at a high templar with better voice acting: http://sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/hightemplar6.mp3 http://sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/hightemplar7.mp3 I think the first sounds good, but has too much of a robotic sound which I tried...

Re: [Sound] Whip me, beat me, critique me

I'm going to have to stick with the regular pitch shifter. I haven't been able to get any other third-party pitch shifters to work. Here's the best high templar I can do for now: http://sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/hightemplar5.mp3 Not much of an improvement, but it's a hard effect for me to replicat...

Re: [Sound] Whip me, beat me, critique me

Alright I'm back. Finally approaching the voice-acting stage in my project and it's time to get these nailed down. Here is the high templar: http://sclegacy.com/_staff/gradius/SCS/temptest3.mp3 My biggest concern: is the reverb tail way too noticeable? I've looked for elastique & other time-stre...

Re: [SCBW] Resonance -- Completed

It's been a while since I opened up starcraft. Nice to play a decent campaign again. Good job man. The music reminds me of mass effect. I'm surprised that the lady with the custom portrait didn't play a bigger role though, she appeared like twice.

Kevan seems really laid-back. :P

What razorclaw said. And I also look forward to all the new assets in the map editor.

Re: Found A Work-around for Campaign Deployment

Meh. I'm just going to stick to online publishing. Global play is coming, and Blizzard will probably let us load maps online....eventually.

The only downside is I can't use copyrighted music. =/

Nice. I love your approach to gameplay. I've always hated terraining though.

Has creating this series inspired you to go back and work on apex?
